Yesterday morning, because there was no paper for Brad and I to read while sitting at opposite ends of the dining room table, sharing amusing stories, I asked him if he wanted to play Lego with me after breakfast, and he did, so we did. He occupied himself building a train station, and I have to say, I hate it. He didn’t remember to overlap bricks at first – how obvious is that? And he built it in all different colours. I could never play with my lego like that. All the bricks in one row were always the same colour for me. Of course, I was still actively playing with my lego right up until I moved out of home at age 17, but that’s not the point. Any ways, the station really isn’t big enough for the Playmobil figures, and it just looks bad. It disturbs me how much this disturbs me. I think I’m just anal about lego. And also Barbies – like when Amy and I were playing barbies around Xmas, the way she was dressing them was just really annoying me too. God, get a grip, Joanna. I think I would hate to be my friend, eh!
But anyways, back to the toys. While Brad built the train station, I occupied myself shuffling through my Playmobil box, and reminiscing. Thomas came along and started laying down the track, so I built train carriages. My sisters would have got the lego train in the mid 70’s, but it still works like a charm – we just need less flat batteries. It was fucking cool fun.
Later though, I laid down in the middle of the semi-figure-of-eight train tracks, and thought about what awful things I used to do to my toys. I mean, one of the games Karen and I played most frequently with the playmobil was Slave Auction. My barbies have probably had every kind of sexual violation in the world done to them. So many of my games featured beautiful women with abusive husbands. I am a sick sick girl. I don’t know what it says about me, I really don’t.
Anyways, that was yesterday. Today Thomas and I went and bought me new parts for a new computer. He was trying to put them together, but then he hit a snag, I think, and he went into town. I’m planning on inviting James over to dinner, to see if he can help. Not that I use people or anything. Anyways, the new computer is spread out all over the dining room table, so i’m still sneaking onto Thomas’s to get my net-fix.
We also went to Food Alley. It was my first time. Man, that place looks so skanky, but the food choice – mmmm. I just wanna know why the Thai place can’t give you chopsticks. What is the national eating utensil of Thailand? Three points to anyone that can tell me the answer.
I bought 1664 beer (France) today, and Brad had already bought umm I think it’s called Dob – something German anyways. Our collection of bottles is growing. Have I mentioned the fact that I drink beer now? It’s crazy, but it’s just nice to have a cold beer and put your feet in a paddling pool when it’s as fucking hot as it is today.
I know Valentines Day is just as commercial as hell, and IGSTJAK Day is like a thousand times more important, but still! Someone could have sent me something!!!
